Free Gift

So what is this gift of salvation I keep talking about? As I described in my blog Jesus: Gods son or God ; God became a human – he was reincarnate in mans body and became the ultimate sacrifice for man kind. OK… Lets talk about why you should accept this gift. 1st you need to confront the truth, today you could die.
Now ask yourself: If you died today what would happen to you? Or where would do you think you will go?
Lets say for the sake of argument: that there is NO God. Then what happens? Do you sleep? Do you come back in another life? Or was your life worth nothing, were you a waste of time? A waste of Space? A waste of Oxygen? If you die and that’s it then we are all living without a purpose.
Satan wants you to believe that you can put this off. He wants you to believe that you have a long time before you die. He wants you to believe in nothing. This is one of his ways of deceiving the unbeliever. Satan knows that there is a good after life with God and a bad afterlife with him. That is why he tries to convince you that you have enough time. But what is a year compared to eternity? What is 100 years compared to forever? The truth is these are serious questions and by the end of this blog maybe you will understand a little better (God willing).
We all sin :
Romans 3:23 says: “for ALL have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God
Now you may be thinking. No way, I’m a good person or maybe you’re thinking that God could never forgive the sins you have committed but you know what. He will forgive anything, if you ask. When you read the bible you will notice that Jesus declared the greatest commandment:
Matthew 22:35-40
35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
So here we have it. If you don’t love God or you don’t love your neighbor as you love yourself then you are sinning. It is ok, we are all sinners. You can’t buy your way into heaven with good works or bribes either. If we choose to ignore Gods laws but try to buy our way into heaven we will be turned away. There is only 1 way to get to heaven.
Isaiah 64:6
But we are all like an unclean thing,
And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags;
We all fade as a leaf,
And our iniquities, like the wind,
Have taken us away.
Do you think God wants you to fail? He doesn’t he wants you to accept his gift so that you can live with him in the eternal kingdom (better known as HEAVEN). He also wants you to realize why he does this. Jesus died for your sins so that you could accept that sacrifice to cleanse your soul.
Ezekiel 33:11
11 Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways!
You will surely die:
John 8:24
24 aTherefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
Romans 6:23 ...
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 3:23
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
James 4:17 ...
17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
Obviously we won’t live forever!! The consequence of sin is death. Satan roams this world looking to devour…who do you think he is trying to devour? Have you ever heard the expression misery loves company? Well Satan is the father of that saying. He is a deceiver, a liar and he would like nothing better than to tarnish your view of Jesus.
Satan tempts everyone: If you recall he even tempted our beloved Jesus:
Luke 4:6-8
And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.”
And Jesus answered and said to him, 5”Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ “
Do you see how Jesus responded? With the word of God. He quoted scripture. This is how you arm yourself against the devil. Satan wanted Jesus to worship him, but ask yourself this. Why would he worship something that was created by God rather than worshiping the creator, our Lord?
Remember the parable of the lost sheep.
Luke 15:4–7
“What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.
Are you Jesus Lost sheep? He is still looking for you..He is waiting for you to join the flock. All you have to do is confess with your mouth (say it out loud) that you believe Jesus Christ died for your sins and was raised up from the dead.
Romans 10:9
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
Romans 10:13
- whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
It can’t be that easy.. Oh but it is and when you repent of your sins, when you join the flock and fall into the arms of Jesus the angels in heaven will rejoice. They will be rejoicing for you!!!! Can you imagine…The angels of heaven praising God for your decision?
Luke 15:10 ...
10 Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
And after you have prayed that prayer you have been washed in the blood of Christ. Of God himself. He has cleansed your soul and now you will have purpose. Life will no longer be about you and what you want but the holy spirit will live in you. And it gets better. As soon as you accept Gods gift he forgets your sins. Just like that.
Heb 8:12
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Heb 10:17
And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Sometimes it is the big decisions in life that change our lives. I tell you this from my own experience. When I finally gave in and accepted Gods gift of salvation I wondered why it took me so long. Life is hard if you think there is no purpose, if you feel alone and sad all the time, if you feel like this is IT. That there is no where to go after this..If that’s true then what is the point? Could you imagine this world without religion? Try to…Just for a moment. It would be complete chaos.
Being a Christian means choosing a different path. God’s path. Some people may make fun of you. Many people will say you are wrong. Many more people will criticize you, disagree with you and there are some who will quit being your friend. Well guess what the bible says about that……
Luke 6:22 ...
Blessed are you when men hate you,
And when they exclude you,
And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,
For the Son of Man’s sake.
That makes you blessed. All you have to remember is that this world is not meant for us. We spend a fraction of a second here in reality to time. We can’t take anything with us, so material possessions are futile but your SOUL belongs to God. And he will fight for your soul, every chance he gets. Think about what lead you to this blog. Think about all of the circumstances where something unexpected has happened to you – pointing to faith. Satan is at war for your soul. He will tell you anything you want to hear. He will make you believe what he thinks you should believe. He will take scripture and twist its meaning to make it fit his views. But the truth is Jesus.
John 14:6
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Do you feel led by this message. Do you feel a tug on your heart? If you do that is Jesus he is knocking. He is waiting at the door for you to open it and let him come in. If you were to die tomorrow. Would you go to heaven or hell? What I have written is true and the proof I offer you is my testimony. God saved me from my own hell on earth. He picked me up like an old mutt, and he cleaned me up and he fed me and even now he is with me, in all that I do. My life has meaning, and that meaning I want to share with the world. I wanted to share it with you!
You can pray this prayer OR something like it:
Dear Heavenly father I know that I have sinned and that I fall short of your glory. I am sorry that I waited so long to accept your selfless gift of salvation. I believe with all my heart that Jesus Christ died for MY sins and that you raised him from the dead and that he is alive now and forever. I ask you to forgive me of all of my sins and to come into my heart, to give me your free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ my savior. In Jesus Name I pray.
Romans 8:38-39
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
