Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom (of love) that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:28-29 NIV)

Deep within the heart of a woman God has planted a seed. It's a seed that when nurtured properly will blossom into a harvest that will eventually consume the whole earth. What is this seed?

The seed is a dream to live a fairytale.

The dream that God planted in a woman is a motivation to be loved and cherished above all things and others, except the Lord Himself and to join her man on a great adventure of "conquering the world" in order to establish a "kingdom of love." Other than loving God, I believe that this is every woman's deepest longing. Just ask any woman on the planet this question:

If you could have only one of the four things listed below, which would you choose?

A.          Money and things

B.           Fame

C.          Physical pleasures and comfort

D.          Passionate and romantic love which endures forever

Ladies, how would you answer this? I would venture a guess that over 90% of women would pick "D" any day of the week. And if I am right about that, then that tells me something about how God made women and what men are put here on earth to do.

Take any great action adventure romance story for example. What is it about this type of story that causes women's hearts to flutter and their emotions to soar?  It's simple really. The main character of every great love story discovers a beautiful woman in great need; usually she is captured by an evil villain who is about to destroy the world, and in order to save the world he must risk his own life to save her. Once he saves her, they fall in love and together the two of them set out on an adventure to save the world. This is the basic plot to many of the greatest love stories of all time. In fact God has actually hardwired this very plot into our hearts because this is the plot of the greatest story ever told; the Gospel.

Act One: Love Reigned

If you only view the Bible as a collection of individual stories you will totally miss the greater story that God is trying to tell. The story of the Gospel does not begin in Matthew, it actually begins in the book of Genesis with the act of creation and ends with a climax of His kingdom of love ruling upon the earth.

In the beginning God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." Gen 1:26-28

Originally creation was paradise. There was a perfect man, a perfect woman, the Creator God, a beautiful garden and five commands given to Adam and Eve:

1.            Be fruitful and increase

2.            Fill the earth with their kind

3.            Subdue the earth

4.            Rule over all the creatures and all the earth

5.            Don't eat from the tree of knowledge (Gen. 2:17)

Originally Love reigned in the hearts of man and woman, and Love would guide them on this mission. God loved man, God loved woman. Man loved God, man loved woman. Woman loved God and woman loved man. True love prevailed: a perfect trinity of love. The fairytale existed and it was called Eden. And together, the three of them would fill and subdue the earth and rule over it. Together they would establish a kingdom of love.

Act Two:  Love was Lost

Just when everything seemed picturesque the vilest of all enemies came upon the scene. And being the archenemy of Love, the Dragon desired to steal man's inheritance (the earth), kill his heart and thus his ability to love, and destroy his ability to warfare so that he could not subdue the earth.

~ The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life,  and have it to the full. Jn 10:10

Because Satan wanted to be like God, he wanted the earth for himself, he wanted to control it instead of God. But how would he accomplish so great a task? How could he take the kingdom of earth which God had promised to man and rule over it? He schemed a plot to cut man off from Love, and thus destroy God's original intention of conquering the earth with Love guiding their steps. He enticed them to disobey God's voice and to live from knowledge rather than from their hearts. (Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding [knowledge]; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Prov. 3:5-6)

So as the greatest love story ever told opens, we have a King in heaven, a king and queen on earth and a command to conquer and rule. Then we have the arch enemy of both kings attempting to destroy God's original plan. As we know Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying the voice of the Lord which cast all humanity into a loveless spiritual darkness and our hearts were cut off from God. We chose knowledge over love (Gen. 2:17; 3:6) and Satan entered the world through lies and deceit and spread his infectious self everywhere through sin. Jesus' "princess" (humanity) fell into sin and became a captive of the great Dragon.

Act Three: Love Restored

Millennia came and went as Jesus' princess remained locked away in a dark and foreboding tower. Finally at the fullness of time, the hero arrived on the scene. The Great Knight (Jesus) came bearing a sword; the very word of God to rescue His princess who was locked away in a dark castle with chains of fear and sin upon her heart.

Jesus fought the great Dragon and laid down His very life. Because He loved his princess more than Himself, He paid the ransom to set her heart free, then he swept her off her feet and betrothed her to Himself. Then together Jesus and His queen set out upon a mission of saving the rest of the world from the tree of knowledge; a spiritual loveless darkness. And even today Jesus along with His queen (the true church) are destined to establish a kingdom of love by subduing the whole earth and then ruling over it as God originally commanded Adam and Eve. And thus we have the ultimate fairytale: a Knight rescuing a bride from an evil Dragon in order to save the world.

So why do women love fairytales, grand adventures, princesses and knights? Because Love wired them that way. Love secretly whispered to their hearts and told them the grandest fairytale ever: the tale of humanity. Women love fairytales because Love wired men to be warriors, lovers and kings and Love wired women to be the ones loved, to support their men in a "spiritual war" and to rule with them as queens upon the earth. Women love fairytales because Love commanded a man and woman to subdue the earth and rule over it. And Love will always prevail.

Consider these verses about Jesus' bride inheriting the earth:

Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. Joshua 1:6 NIV

Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret--it leads only to evil. For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land. A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace. Psalm 37:8-10 NIV</P>

Wait for the Lord and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it. Psalm 37:34 NIV

Instead of their shame my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace they will rejoice in their inheritance; and so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs. Isaiah 61:7 NIV

In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. Daniel 2:44 NIV

Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:32 NIV
